The shop is run as an economic association by currently eight members. The members are Mia Carlsson, Tarja Mari Angborn, Penny Fletcher, Sofia Stawåsen Brokvist, Helén Carlerbäck Hedin, Titti Jonsson, Lene Isedal and Maria Stawåsen.
The members' mainly textile products are sold in the shop. In addition, local craftsmen and artisans contribute with forging, wood, ceramics, etc., which are taken into commission, i.e. artisans only get paid when the item is sold. The shop also sells both yarns and tools for your own creation.
Once a month, a craft café is arranged and from time to time there are workshops.
The gallery regularly arranges exhibitions with artists, artisans, associations or training courses. If you are interested, you can receive our newsletter, which comes once a month. If so, please let us know your email address!

Penny Fletcher
I grew up in a creative family where I tried out many different crafts. I discovered my love of textiles and began weaving 35 years ago. It quickly became my passion. After moving from England to Sweden, I studied weaving at Fristads Folkhögskola for 3 years and joined Vävkompaniet in 2017.
I am fascinated by the whole process from sheep to finished item and enjoy carding, spinning and dyeing. I am passionate about designing and patternmaking for my own handwoven fabric. Over the years I have tried many different weaving techniques and am still as curious as ever and keen to try something new. It is also fun and challenging to work with new materials such as paper yarn.

Sofia Stawåsen Brokvist (Sofia Åsktå)
I've basically grown up at Vävkompaniet. I finally became a member myself in 2017. I've been luceting and folding origami lucky stars since I was a child.
I'm a natural dyer and love to experiment with new dyeing techniques. Some other passions include spinning and knitting, I also do a bit of weaving. I grow my own dyeplants and like to forage for dyestuff and food (and for random sticks and stones)

Knitting is my passion in designing socks, mittens, hats and sweaters. Learning about wool and the process from sheep to yarn is fascinating. The traditional skills in growing and preparing flax for spinning is a challenge. And to relearn about weaving - that’s a must.

Maria Stawåsen
One of the original four founders of Vävkompaniet 1991.
Weaves a lot, loves weave drafting and theory of fabric structure. Uses a lot of different materials such as paper yarn, linen and wool.
Have tried many textile techniques these past years, luceting being one of the absolute favorites. Paper folding is another favorite craft, as is dyeing of both yarns and fabrics using various kinds of shibori techniques. Loves sharing ideas and meeting people that are passionate about textiles.

Oscar Larsson
My name is Oscar Larsson, and in my workshop, located in the small Swedish village of Himlinge,
I work with slojd and woodwork. Here, I produce everything from furniture to various types of tools
– with a strong focus on sustainability and traditional methods. Do you have an idea you'd like to
realize? Turning ideas into reality is exactly what I do, so feel free to get in touch!
I have an extensive educational background in woodworking. I have studied at Tibro
Hantverksakademin with a focus on woodworking and furnituremaking, at Linnaeus University
where I studied wood science, as well as at Sätergläntan Institute of Slojd and Crafts, located in
Dalarna, Sweden, where I recently completed a three-year program in traditional woodworking.
I see my work as a collaboration with the material – a dialogue where I carve with a knife or axe,
and the wood responds. It is a struggle between the personality of the material and my own, or
rather a partnership. It is there, in the interplay between craftsman and material, that true magic
arises.
