Used as weft in weaving etc. When used as weft, it is easiest to cut to lengths wider than the width of the warp that protrudes on both sides of the fabric. Otherwise, the yarn needs to be moistened to become more compliant - this paper yarn is both thick and twisted, making it stiffer than the unprocessed and thinner variants.
The thick paper yarn is twisted by a 10 cm wide strip of paper. The twisted paper yarns are slightly stiffer than the unwrapped ones. They are also not fully dyed but have a lighter core because they are dyed after the twisting.
Our Finnish paper yarns are made from spruce wood fiber and manufactured by Taito Pirkanmaa Oy in Tampere.
